Kadhambari Sridhar is a Bharatanatyam artist, yoga instructor, public health professional, and founder of Movement with K, based in the Washington, DC–Maryland–Virginia (DMV) region. Her work brings together movement, culture, and community engagement to create experiences that foster resilience, reflection, and connection.

Trained in the Kalakshetra tradition under her guru, Malini Srinivasan, Kadhambari has performed Bharatanatyam for nearly two decades at theaters, festivals, museums, schools, and community venues across the United States and internationally. A member of Malini Srinivasan and Dancers, her performances have been featured in The New York Times, New York Post, NYTheater Row, and the Examiner. Through Movement with K, she offers Bharatanatyam, yoga, lecture-demonstrations, and community-centered workshops that make classical Indian movement traditions accessible to diverse audiences while exploring themes of identity, migration, nature, and belonging.

Alongside her artistic practice, Kadhambari has dedicated her career to advancing public health, human rights, and community resilience. Having lived and worked across Asia, Europe, and North America, she has served global communities through leadership and consulting roles focused on refugee, immigrant, and human rights issues, including work with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Her recent professional experience includes starting the first Community Health Preparedness Program for Fairfax County Health Department during COVID-19, an initiative that received the 2022 Gold Award for Innovative Practice by the National Association of City and County Health Officials (NACCHO).

Kadhambari holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a Minor in Asian and Asian American Studies from the the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook. She has served as Chair of the Board of the Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project, Chair of the Northern Virginia Coalition for Refugee Health, and as a Commissioner on the City of Alexandria Commission for the Arts, reflecting her longstanding commitment to civic leadership and community service.

Whether performing on stage, teaching in a studio, facilitating workshops, or leading organizational initiatives, Kadhambari is guided by a belief that movement, culture, and public service are powerful tools for building more connected, compassionate, and resilient communities.
